What you getFor one tax year

Figures your accountant can check in one sitting.

Calculated the way CRA requires, with every number traceable to a transaction.

01
Adjusted cost base, rebuilt

One average-cost pool per asset across every exchange, wallet and address you control, as CRA requires. FIFO is not allowed in Canada, so we do not use it.

02
Transfers matched, not taxed

Moving crypto between your own accounts is not a disposition. We pair the sends and receives so they are not reported as sales.

03
Schedule 3 figures

Proceeds, ACB, outlays and the gain or loss for every disposition in the year, ready for you or your accountant to enter.

04
Income separated out

Staking, rewards and airdrops valued in CAD when received, kept apart from capital gains.

05
The trail behind every number

Source file, transaction and price for each figure, in case CRA ever asks.

How it worksPay, send your files, we confirm scope
01
Pick your band and pay

If you know roughly how big your history is, buy the band below. Use the email you signed up to Moonscape with, so we can link it to your account. Not sure? Ask for the free diagnostic first and we will tell you which one fits.

02
Send us everything

Exchange exports, wallet addresses, and anything you know is missing. Read-only access or CSV files, nothing that can move funds.

03
We confirm scope, then rebuild

We check what you sent against the band before any work starts. If the file is bigger than the band, we say so first; nothing is charged without your yes.

04
You or your accountant file

You get the figures, the ACB workings and the trail. You file, or hand it to your accountant.

ScopeWe do the figures, not the filing
In
One person, one tax year

Canadian federal return (CRA). Extra years are quoted separately, never assumed.

In
Every exchange and wallet

Including closed exchanges and accounts you only remember part of.

In
Missing records

We say what can be recovered from chain data and what cannot, before work starts.

Out
Filing the return

You or your accountant file. We will walk them through the workpapers.

Out
Tax advice beyond the report

We reconstruct and classify. Positions on contested treatment are for your adviser.

Out
Companies, funds and other jurisdictions

Individuals in the UK and US only for now.

Out
History that cannot be recovered

If the records are gone and nothing on-chain replaces them, the diagnostic says so and the quote excludes it.

Out
Capital vs business income calls

Whether your trading is on capital or income account is a judgement for you or your accountant. We give you the figures for either.

FAQWhat Canadian filers ask

How do I know which band I am in?

Count roughly how many trades, deposits and withdrawals you made across all your accounts in the year. Under 1,000 is Standard Fix, under 10,000 is Complex, more is Forensic. If you cannot tell, ask for the free diagnostic and we will tell you before you pay anything.

What if I buy the wrong band?

We check your files against the band before any work starts. If your history is bigger than the band, we tell you before any work starts. Nothing extra is charged without your agreement.

How does CRA want crypto cost calculated?

Adjusted cost base: all units of the same crypto you hold, across every account, form one pool with one average cost. FIFO and specific identification are not permitted for capital property. Half of a capital gain is taxable.

Do you file my return or give tax advice?

No. We rebuild the figures and hand them over with a full trail. You or your accountant review and file.

I missed the April 30 deadline. Can you still help?

Yes. The figures are the same whether you file late, amend a past return, or work with an accountant on a disclosure. Tell us the years involved and your timeline.

Hand us the mess. Get figures you can file.

Buy your band now, or ask for the free diagnostic if you are not sure which one fits.
