The hardest part of crypto taxes isn’t the taxes — it’s the data. Moonscape reconciles every exchange, wallet and chain into one ledger, then hands you a figure with the workings behind it.
No credit card. Import and reconcile free — you only pay when you export.
Every figure traced to a source record. Example figures.
Five failures produce almost every incorrect crypto return. None of them are about tax law.
CEXs, DEXs, wallets, bridges and chains, none of which agree with each other.
Move your own coins between your own wallets and a naive tool bills you for a disposal.
A disposal priced at the wrong minute is a gain figure nobody can defend.
Wrap, bridge or LP once and the chain of basis silently snaps.
Without them you can’t tell short-term from long, or find a loss worth harvesting.
Every CEX, wallet, chain and DEX pulled into one ledger. Transfers linked, duplicates removed, gaps flagged rather than guessed.
Historical price for every asset at the exact moment it moved — wraps, LP tokens, stables and cross-chain variants included.
Swaps, sells, wraps, bridges, LP adds and removes, rewards, transfers — each mapped to the tax event it actually is.
Cost basis, P&L and the tax figure recalculate as you trade. If a late transaction changes the number, we reissue the pack free.
Form 8949, Schedule D, HMRC SA108, TurboTax import, and a full CPA handover — because clean data in is what makes forms audit-ready.
Reconciled data turns into signed, compliant forms. Every number links back to the record it came from, so a review is a read rather than an investigation.
Form 8949 and Schedule D pre-filled, HMRC SA108 and computation sheet, income reports for mining, staking and airdrops.
TurboTax direct import, TaxAct and H&R Block exports, and a single-zip handover package with working papers.
Full audit trail, closing position report, and the written record of every judgement call you made.
The workpaper format a reviewing CPA receives. Synthetic figures.
Every form the IRS expects for digital assets, generated from your reconciled ledger — not typed in by hand at midnight on April 14th.
Every disposal listed with dates, proceeds, cost basis and gain — short-term and long-term separated.
Totals carried over from Form 8949, ready to attach to your 1040.
Staking, mining and airdrop income summed by type, ready for Schedule 1.
Direct TurboTax import, plus TaxAct and H&R Block export formats.
A single-zip package with working papers, so a reviewing CPA reads instead of investigates.
| Description | Proceeds | Basis | Gain |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.5 ETH | $8,420.00 | $5,105.00 | $3,315.00 |
| 140 SOL | $19,208.00 | $11,940.00 | $7,268.00 |
| 0.8 BTC | $51,120.00 | $38,600.00 | $12,520.00 |
Every row traced to a source record. Example figures.
From January 2025 every US broker — Coinbase, Kraken, Robinhood, Gemini — reports your crypto sales to the IRS. The IRS will see every disposition. Your return has to match.
Every disposition, filed on your behalf, whether or not you tracked it.
The only asset class with a dedicated version, with digital-asset checkboxes.
Brokers need not report basis until 2026. Untracked basis is assumed to be zero — a 100% gain on every sale.
If your 1040 disagrees with the broker’s 1099-DA, that difference is what gets looked at.
| Asset | Proceeds · 1d | Basis · 1e |
|---|---|---|
| ETH | $24,820.00 | $18,210.00 |
| SOL | $9,921.42 | $1,711.00 |
| BTC | $42,180.00 | Not reported |
| ARB | $3,914.00 | Not reported |
Worth $5,760 in tax on this sample. Real numbers depend on your activity.
One payment per tax year, not a subscription. Your plan is a cap on that year’s transaction count, checked when you export — viewing is never gated, and if a year later outgrows its plan you pay the difference to step up, never the whole plan again.
A straightforward return, one or two venues.
Frequent trading, staking, moderate DeFi.
Multiple exchanges, deep DeFi, years of history.
Import your history free and we count that tax year for you, then recommend the plan that fits. Plans that don’t cover your count are disabled at checkout, so you can’t buy the wrong one.
Unlimited transactions. Send us the mess — years of CSVs, DeFi yield, cross-chain bridges — and our analysts reconcile everything, resolve missing basis, and hand back a ready-to-file report.
| Your transaction count | Competitors | Moonscape | Plan that covers it |

| Up to 100 | $59/yr | $39 | StarterOne-time, not annual |

Competitor plans are annual subscriptions. Moonscape plans are one-time for a single tax year, so a competitor’s figure recurs and ours doesn’t.
Years of CSVs, DeFi yield, cross-chain bridges. Our analysts connect everything, fix the gaps, and QA every transaction before delivery.
Grant read-only access, answer a short onboarding form, review the report. Revisions are unlimited.
Import every source, clean the CSVs, match bridges and transfers, resolve missing basis, configure your method, QA the lot.
“They found bridge transfers that the other tools had flagged as taxable disposals. That alone would have cost me thousands in overpaid tax.”
“Finally, a crypto tax tool that actually handles DeFi properly. I had transactions across 8 chains and Moonscape reconciled everything in under an hour.”
“My accountant was impressed. The Form 8949 export was clean and accurate. Saved me from manually categorizing 2,000+ transactions.”
“The bridge detection alone is worth it. Other tools kept flagging my cross-chain transfers as taxable events. Moonscape got it right.”
Crypto taxes aren’t stressful when the data is correct. Moonscape fixes the root cause — broken, inconsistent, cross-chain data — rather than putting a nicer interface on top of it.
Faster than explaining crypto to your accountant. Nothing to pay until you export.
Each one brings its own rules, forms, methods and currency — not a US engine with the numbers relabelled. Picking your jurisdiction picks the whole ruleset.

| United States | IRS | Form 8949 |
| United Kingdom | HMRC | SA108 |

Connect an exchange with a read-only API key, paste a wallet address, or upload a CSV. Import and reconciliation are free — you see your figure before you pay anything.
300+ exchanges by API or CSV, 15+ blockchains read straight from an address, and 50+ DeFi protocols including LPs, bridges and staking.
Five self-serve plans from $39 to $199, priced on how many transactions that tax year holds — one payment per tax year, not a subscription. Concierge is a one-off from $499, quoted after a free diagnostic scan. Importing and reconciling are always free.
Every disposal is matched to the lots it consumed using your jurisdiction's method — FIFO, LIFO, HIFO or share pooling — and the gain is proceeds less basis, net of fees.
US filers need Form 8949 and Schedule D; UK filers need SA108 with a computation sheet. Both are produced pre-filled, alongside income reports for mining, staking and airdrops.
Moving your own coins between your own wallets isn't a disposal and we never treat it as one. Staking rewards and airdrops are income when they land, so they are reportable even without a sale.
Every figure resolves to a source record. An exceptions report lists what needed a judgement call, what we resolved automatically and what's left for you — nothing is resolved silently.
Yes — PDF forms, CSV appendix, TurboTax import and a single-zip CPA handover. Exporting is the step your plan tier covers; viewing is never gated.
API keys are read-only and encrypted. We can see your history and can never trade, withdraw or transfer. You can disconnect any source at any time.
